  Lead Agricultural Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Lead Agricultural Diesel Mechanic to take charge of our workshop operations across a diverse fleet of modern agricultural and contracting machinery.

This is a senior role suited to someone who takes pride in high quality workmanship, enjoys a well organised and supportive workshop environment, and can confidently lead apprentices while maintaining the reliability of our machinery fleet and some commercial external service work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise two apprentices

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues

Maintain and service tractors, vehicles, trucks, and contracting equipment

Manage workshop workflow and prioritise breakdowns during peak season

Coordinate parts ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships

Ensure machinery readiness for hay, farming and contracting operations

Support field breakdowns during the season

Implement preventative maintenance systems

About You

Trade qualification in diesel mechanics, ag mechanics, or heavy vehicle

Strong diagnostic capability and problem solving skills

Experience with agricultural machinery (preferred but not essential for the right candidate)

Ability to lead, train, and mentor apprentices

High standards of workmanship and accountability

A proactive, organised approach to workshop management
